This is the Great Wood Saw Challenge.  Despite these being all wood saws, I am testing them on PVC plastic pipe.  Why?  Good question, wish I had an answer! First off, here are the Contenders:

·    1- Wenger Mountaineer
·    2- OHT
·    3- Pro Series Knockoff
·    4- SOG PowerLock
·    6- LM Wave
·    7- MasterGrip Knockoff
·    8- Craftsman Hacksaw

The cuts made by each saw are the farthest left in the pictures. Each saw was given 25 forward strokes to make their cuts.  All scores are out of 5.

* Dedicated saw provides the best cut by far and scores top marks in all categories.

Results- The dedicated hacksaw was the clear winner while the Victorinox, Wenger and Leatherman finished a very competitive second. The LM did indeed "set" best, but the cut resulted in a little less depth, putting them pretty well on the same level. If I had to make a choice between any of these three, I would probably opt for the Wenger due to it's extended length.
I am not going to comment on the others, since none of them would be my choices for a needed tool. If these were all I had, then they would all work, but if I had to choose, I wouldn't take any of them.
