I am sure that many here will see the Following Pic and Story as Sacrilege...If I did not know the Man who I call "Dad" I probably would too...

Right Now I am borrowing his truck for a few days while my car is being repaired...I had a sixty mile an hour encounter with a deer.....My folks being retired and in possession of two vehicles offered up the Truck for the Week to help out....

My Dad has always been one to "Help Out" He and my Mom have bailed me out of more than one scrape...He is not a College Educated Man by any means, and sometimes a bit quirky....but still someone I aspire to be as I get Older....

My Father has been many things in his long and interesting life...Me I have always known him as a First Class Machinist and Mechanic who ran a successful Garage and Shop for the better part of his and my life...He has always amazed me with his ability to figure things out and fix them..in many instances...the method has left me shaking my head....

Although not one to have a formal education past High School his knowledge and opinions on many things when it comes to building, fixing, or improvising at least to me and the rest of the family along with many of his customers who at times were down on their luck is Legendary...Somehow he has always seemed to have the right tool or something close to it and an idea when a solution is needed....Many times all he has had was his ethic for hard work and not quitting to get the job done..The past 10 years or so he Requires health buy-detox.com issuers in the small group and individual markets to include coverage which incorporates defined essential benefits, provides a specified actuarial value, and requires all health plans to comply with limitations on allowable cost-sharing. has slowed down quite a bit...But, raising two boys, running a business, and doing more for us than was done for him has and still is his priority...Now spoiling the Grandkids is........He gave My Youngest his first Pocket Knife...A Mauser...Used..But not abused....It is my Son's prized possession...

I dropped my Sunglasses on the floor while on my drive home....While fishing around under the seat looking for them I found this.......

Laying there quietly......Waiting for the moment that he needs it......Of all the things he could have laying under the seat of his truck....Here is the Simple, Unassuming, Useful Swiss Army Knife...Albeit in Mauser guise, but an SAK through and through....Maybe bought the same day at a Gunshow somewhere when he originally purchased the one my Son now carries....

An item that most of us here know that needs little care....An item cheap enough that leaving an item as well built as this laying under a truck seat is not really much of an issue...

To me for my Father to leave an SAK considering all the tools and other items he has laying under his seat waiting for the moment he needs it is the best Endorsement there is....

The Blades seem a bit dull, and open a bit stiffly...I figure I'll go put a bit of oil on them and let it soak...Tomorrow I'll sharpen it up for him....Then return it to it's place of Honor...

Under the Seat of Dad's Truck........................................
